Weima, who are probably the leading worldwide manufacturer of briquetting presses and shredders, now extend across their well known range of circular and rectangular range of briquetting presses the new state of the art technology - SELF DIAGNOSTICS.

SELF DIAGNOSTICS, incorporated within the machines hydraulic and PLC equipment is complemented by the Weima unplug – plug replacement part system. In the unlikely event of a component failure, this system can greatly reduce machine down time, service engineer call out costs and lost production time.

With over 20,000 installations worldwide, including more than 890 installations in the UK, Weima has been successfully manufacturing briquetting presses and shredders for over 25 years.

The Weima range of briquetting presses is designed for processing throughput volumes up to 1500kg/hour dependant on the material being processed, of not only wood shavings and sawdust but also paper, cardboard, straw, seed husks, aluminium, copper and brass swarf’s, at a maximum moisture content of 18%. All current in-house demonstration briquetting presses are fitted with SELF DIAGNOSTICS and current available at advantageous ex-demonstration discounted prices.

NEW - Spider HRS Shredder Series

The recycling industry, as much of industry in the UK and Europe, is being forced to source machinery and processing plant which delivers even more efficiency in improved performance, higher reliability, more flexibility in design and adaptive flexibility to multi task. Other pressures include the upward growth in landfill tax and government legislative changes forcing plant manufacturers with the private sector to arrive at exotic solutions to meet customer demands.

Visitors to the recent K 2010 trade fair in Dusseldorf, Germany would have seen the truly innovative modular shredder offering from WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH called the Spider HRS Shredder Series. The Spider HRS Series is a new breed of shredder, within the WLK mould, incorporating a number of new and unique developments to shredding technology.

The three Spider HRS models within the series of WLK series single-shaft shredders is equipped with an interchangeable pressing system designed to handle a variety of materials to include; lumps, film, and hollow moulds. The modular pressing systems are incredibly quick to replace, making it effortless to tailor the machines to different material flows, even after years of operation. And because there is unrestricted access to the cutting system, cleaning and servicing are quick and easy to perform.

The pressing systems are guided over belt-retaining strips - attached externally for straightforward replacement - and stored on plastic rollers for optimum system guidance and jamming prevention. Furthermore, the pressing system hydraulics installed beneath the machine housing can be fully removed, providing quick access for maintenance work. What's more, the pressing systems are controlled using a position-measuring system.

The new single-shaft shredders are generally equipped with a hydraulically-driven swivel screen basket, a mechanism that helps to prevent jamming of material between the rotor and the inner screen wall. The screening surface around the rotor has also been increased for faster material output, while the reduced size of the individual screen elements make screen replacement easier than ever before.

Single-shaft shredders are supplied in rotor widths of 1000 mm, 1500 mm and 2000 mm, with a rotor diameter of 450 mm, delivering rotational speeds of up to 150 rpm.

Fercell / Weima UK appoint a Marketing & Communications Manager

Leading Kent-based recycling processing plant solutions provider Fercell Engineering Limited continues its expansion with the appointment of experienced marketer Bruce Le Gros to the position of marketing and communications manager.

Previously a marketing manager with a waste management services provider where he worked for more 5 years, Bruce has held marketing B2B roles with a bias in waste management, the environment and sustainability.

Malcolm Fletcher, Managing Director at Fercell Engineering comments; “Bruce will be well placed to make a valued contribution in our exciting future expansion plans through 2011, building on our current nationwide business with the Weima brand (shredders, granulators and briquetters) and our Fercell dust control products services and systems.
